Saturday morning we took the girls to J.C. Penny's in the mall to have some professional portraits made. We probably wouldn't normally have done it, but the Great Grandma is quite persuasive (and she knows that I am probably too lazy to ever get her any wallet sized prints on my own). If you are ever planning to have portraits made this close to Christmas, don't.

Our appointment was for 11:00 am and they didn't even get us back to the studio until 12:20 or so. After a 10 minute shoot we had to wait around another half hour to look at the proofs and select the shots we wanted. In the end, for the price of 15 sheets from this place I can just about complete my home studio with backdrops, flashes and umbrellas. All I will need after that is a tad bit of skill (by the time the girls are in high school I should have it down).

My parents also came up to see Claire and Chloe this weekend. It was good timing since they turned 7 months old today and seem to be developing more and more every day. Both girls can get up on their hands and knees and rock back and forth. They also like to yack some made up words with the sounds "mama, baba, dada."
