The girls were just sitting around in their PJs before bed tonight. They are both pretty good at sitting up now. Chloe might be a tad better, but not by much. They are also very close to crawling. I would say that Claire has the lead there. She will scoot her way across the living room floor to get a toy now.
Month of November, 2007
Ten things I learned this Thanksgiving
1) The girls can last for three hours in the car. After that, we have global thermal nuclear meltdown.
2) It is possible to turn a barn into a pimped out "party barn".
3) I can't throw a football to save my life.
4) Jamie can clean up in Texas Hold'em.
5) Changing a dirty diaper in a parking lot can be very hazardous to your health and that of your babies.
6) Sirius Hits 1 plays the same 10 songs and Timbaland is on every single one of them.
7) Guitar Hero while fun, is impossible to look cool while playing.
8) If I only pack one pair of shorts, I will inevitably want to wear shorts every day.
9) Two chocolate labs can create many land mines in three days.
10) If I had to live on a deserted island and could only bring one thing with me, it would be the internet.
* Foot note about number 5. I try to keep this blog PG13 so I won't go into too much detail, but needless to say, Chloe figured out how to create her own war paint ... and put it on her face.
It seems like babies should get rug burns
Here is a video I took earlier this month. The girls were wallowing around on the carpet and I thought they looked pretty cute. In the middle of the video you can see Claire get up on all fours and rock back and forth. At the time they had just started doing this, but now it is their norm. It seems like they will be crawling any day now.

Busy Weekend
Saturday morning we took the girls to J.C. Penny's in the mall to have some professional portraits made. We probably wouldn't normally have done it, but the Great Grandma is quite persuasive (and she knows that I am probably too lazy to ever get her any wallet sized prints on my own). If you are ever planning to have portraits made this close to Christmas, don't.
Our appointment was for 11:00 am and they didn't even get us back to the studio until 12:20 or so. After a 10 minute shoot we had to wait around another half hour to look at the proofs and select the shots we wanted. In the end, for the price of 15 sheets from this place I can just about complete my home studio with backdrops, flashes and umbrellas. All I will need after that is a tad bit of skill (by the time the girls are in high school I should have it down).
My parents also came up to see Claire and Chloe this weekend. It was good timing since they turned 7 months old today and seem to be developing more and more every day. Both girls can get up on their hands and knees and rock back and forth. They also like to yack some made up words with the sounds "mama, baba, dada."
Seven Months Old
The girls turn seven months old tomorrow. Today we took them to have professional portraits made. It was quite an ordeal. I'd tell you all about it, if I wasn't so exhausted.
Here are some photos I took before we went on our adventure.
Sammie Dog, Still Learning To Cope
Sammie got a bath today for the first time in a couple of months. Trust me, she needed it! She is still learning to cope with getting less attention since the girls came along. In the evenings, when everyone else is asleep I bring her into my office and take photos of her. Like this one.
Chloe and "dada"
This is what Chloe and I practice when Mommy isn't around.
Flickrfied
I've recently uploaded all of my photos to flickr (all 5,000 of them). While the majority of them are set to private, the ones I share on the website aren't. I'll be removing the photo gallery section of this website soon since Flickr just makes my life easier in so many ways.
It was fun checking out all of my old photos, but I still get the biggest kick out of pictures of Claire and Chloe. Like this one of the girls in their Cadillac of a stroller.

That photo was taken back in September, now the girls don't need their car seats when cruising the neighborhood. They just sit in the stroller like big girls with their feet dangling over the front.
