I picked up the new Led-Zeppelin 2 disc DVD a few weeks ago. I watched it once and put it on the shelf because I was busy doing other important things (read: playing online games). Lately I've been popping it in every day to watch a couple tracks and I have to say it rocks! Prior to this DVD the only real video footage of Zeppelin was the movie "The Song Remains The Same". I admit I have watched that movie over a hundred times since I was in high school, but it kind of sucks. With the cheesy "fantasy scenes" cut in-between the performances, which themselves were not Zep's greatest.
The new DVD has material from both the early years and the later years including their final performance at Knebworth in 1979. The quality is very good and the performances are awesome. My favorite part comes on the second disc where Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Robert Plant put on a three song acoustic jam of Going To California, That's The Way and Bron-Y-Aur Stomp. The only thing I don’t like about the DVD set is that on one or two tracks the video and audio are taken from different shows and spliced together which gives a less than authentic feel. Still, I consider this to be the best DVD in my collection.
